Urdbean (Vigna mungo), a vital pulse crop, is significantly affected by the pod borer complex, leading to substantial yield losses. Understanding the proteomic response in resistant germplasm is essential for developing effective breeding strategies. This study investigates the differential protein expression in resistant and susceptible urdbean genotypes using SDS-PAGE analysis. Results revealed distinct protein bands associated with resistance, including pathogenesis-related proteins and protease inhibitors. These findings provide valuable insights into molecular markers for resistance breeding and sustainable pest management.
